Desde los fines de los años noventa, Peter Krieger es un pionero de la investigación sobre la eco-estética. Actualmente desarrolla investigaciones sobre la geo-estética, basado en la herencia conceptual de Alexander von Humboldt y relacionado con la llamada vuelta geológica.
